On Thursday, January 29, one of the greatest things happened to me; my experience at Adams Dental. The second I walked in the door, I felt like I was anywhere except a doctor’s office. The warm aura of the waiting room and welcoming staff immediately made me feel comfortable, despite this being my first time here! I was taken into the examination room so promptly and began with questions regarding my teeth. These processes were thorough and quick. As soon as Dr. Lee walked in the room, I felt a warm feeling of compassion and positivity-two attributes that are so vital to any patient to feel. I have never felt more comfortable and happy in a doctor’s office before-yet alone a dentist office; the place most people dread! My beyond positive experience at Adams Dental enabled me to rave about your professional and warm facility all day! I told my parents and close friends how comfortable I felt and that I was now excited to go to the dentist! “When I was a little girl, I was taken to a dentist who I am certain purchased his instruments from a medieval yard sale. He was just the first in a series of nightmare dentists, one of them being eerily similar to Dr. Orin Scrivello, without the benefit of humor or a musical score. I was terrified to the point of having to request gas for simple cleanings. I eventually wound up going to a perfectly nice but completely ineffectual dentist. He didn’t hurt me, but on the other hand he didn’t do much of anything at all. It came to pass that I had a chipped tooth that was aching, and I knew it was time for a cleaning. I also figured that it was time to put on my big-girl pants and find a real dentist. I read in NJ Monthly about Dr. Adams being one of the Top Dentists in New Jersey and her office is conveniently located in my town, so I made an appointment. I am so very glad I did. First, the staff at Adams Dental is amazing, particularly Andréa. They emailed me all the forms so I could fill them in at my leisure before my first visit. They confirmed my appointment. They greeted me warmly when I entered the door at the crack of dawn. And then I met Dr. Adams, one of the nicest, most energetic people I’ve ever met, who proceeded to give me the most thorough dental exam I’ve ever had in my life, reassuring me and explaining everything she was doing as she was doing it. I needed a scaling and a tiny cavity filled. Terror. They made two appointments for me and told me to bring my iPod, which was brilliant. Music sounds much better than the sonic cleaning thing. By the end of the first appointment I was fairly certain I didn’t need the gas that I had asked for (though I’m still not quite brave enough to go without). She was as gentle as could be, and distracted me with a combination of facts and humor. Her amazing staff followed-up with me after the appointments to make sure I was doing OK. I have to go back for a crown. Though I’m not overjoyed, I know I am finally in good hands, that there’s not going to be any unneccessary pain, and that they’re on top of things. The work so far has been outstanding, and I’m looking forward to a lifetime of healthy teeth. It is impossible to be this good at something without loving what you do – and clearly Dr. Adams takes pride in her profession. I adore this practice so much that I have taken up flossing (somewhat) regularly. If you need a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Adams and her fabulous team.”

“Update: I went back for the crown and found I needed a root canal. I was not surprised – I knew by the discomfort alone I’d need work done. I was referred by Dr. Adams to Dr. Sorvino-Macchia of Chatham-Madison Endodontics. Not only did I recieve excellent care, but Dr. Sorvino was in touch with Dr. Adams every step of the way, and both worked together with me to determine how to proceed, since my root canal took forever to heal (but it did!). This included an exchange of emails between me and Dr. Adams, who replied in detail. While she expressed her opinion, she did not in any way demand I go one way or another, leaving it to me to decide what I felt comfortable with. On top of that, Andréa worked through various complicated insurance scenarios to help with my decision. The bum tooth is now happily ensconced in a temporary crown to make sure I’m comfortable. So far, so good.

Since I have become a patient of Dr. Adams, I have referred two co-workers, a close friend, and my mother, who drives in from Brooklyn for appointments. All of whom seem pleased with Adams Dental’s services (and two of them more terrified of dental work than I ever was, which is hard to imagine).

P.S. I no longer need gas. Unless they have to pull a tooth, then all bets are off. But otherwise, once you’ve been through an epic root canal with an endodontist who is focused on not causing pain or discomfort, it’s all good from then on.”

“Pretty sure Dr. Adams is one of the best dentists in NJ. They not only fix your teeth but they can fix your face and help you breath better too with the myofunctional therapy. Front desk was helpful and advised me clearly of what the charges were and what they were for. They were also very helpful with scheduling. You get text reminders that proved useful on more than one occasion. They explained everything thoroughly before they started. I go for regular cleanings, but had a filling done once by Dr. Adams and it was honestly the most painless experience I’ve ever had at a dentist. Rosie is great hygienist. Ashley and Ann Marie too! Frankly, the whole team is tops. Both my kids have the ALF appliances as well. It makes room for the teeth to come in hopefully avoiding the need for braces and it helps with their breathing also. That’s one of the biggest things about this practice, they do so much more than just dentistry. And they honestly care, are personable, and friendly. Not sure how there are any negative reviews on here but so it goes with people. Some just like to complain about anything they can. All in all, great practice. Highly recommend.”
