Dr. Allison M. Adams, recognized as one of the Top Dentists for 13 years running, 2010-2022, in New Jersey by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, was born and raised in Madison, New Jersey, and is proud to deliver comprehensive dental care to her friends and neighbors. She completed her undergraduate studies in 1985 at the College of St. Elizabeth and went on to study dentistry at the UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School, graduating in 1991.
Over the past 25 years she has traveled the country and spent hundreds of hours attending continuing education courses in order to stay current in advances in the field. She has completed a comprehensive post-graduate program in orthodontics. Dr. Adams has dedicated herself to the art and science of cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry.
Dr. Adams is affiliated with a surgical implant mentorship at Vizstara, a renowned implant education center in New Jersey. Alongside other top dentists in the tri-state area, Dr. Adams advances her knowledge on progressive implant technologies and techniques. Through this program, she is able to provide elite care and service for her patients at a distinguished institution. Her patients benefit from her comprehensive approach to implant dentistry and her ability to both place and restore implants.
As a Certified Invisalign Provider and member of numerous orthodontic organizations for general dentists, Dr. Adams is able to incorporate tooth movement, be it minor or major, to supplement a patient’s care. She looks at the whole face when designing a treatment plan, and with children she takes into consideration future growth and its potential impact.
As a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Adams is able to help diagnose and treat both snoring and sleep apnea. She recognizes the importance of a good night’s sleep and knows that whether it is “just snoring” that is disturbing a bed partner, or the more dangerous Obstructive Sleep Apnea that puts you at higher risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes, these situations can be treated with the use of a customized oral appliance.
Dr. Adams serves as an advisor to Buteyko Professionals International (BPI) Dental Advisory Board. Advisory Board members are part of the BPI Team and are recognized authorities on the Buteyko Breathing Method and support the mission of BPI by advising the BPI Management Board on clinical, scientific and dental matters. This includes the review of clinical trials on the Buteyko Method and other forms of breathing re-training in dentistry and the provision of support related to the continuing professional development of BPI members.
Dr. Adams, who understands the importance of treating the whole patient, realizes that dental care should not be “one-size-fits-all” and that open communication with her patients will ultimately lead to excellent treatment and a very satisfied patient.
Dr. Adams devotes her time to the Madison community through avid community service; she has led multiple service projects, including a fundraiser for those affected by Hurricane Sandy, which earned her the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s “Distinguished Service” award in 2014. She is married and enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children.
